The hospital will help you obtain a carseat. They will not let you leave the hospital with the baby without one. No one needs to buy you one. I know this as I am a nurse that works in a Neonatal ICU. Good luck with your baby...

i went to the doc today and they said i will be having the baby in three weeks or less but i dont have a carseat for her. if anyone can buy one for me off one of these sites i will pay back in june when i get my tax rebate check. please help me out.
